Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is the daughter of the mixed race family of South London in England. Her mother and father are both English. She grew in a South London council estate, and when she was 14she enrolled in The Brit School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She was a part of various stage productions during her school days, including King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe began her acting career in the movie Storm Damage. In the following years, she appeared on Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe made her debut motion picture in the 2007 Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. Her success resulted in her being cast as Elisha in a single-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot, then appear in the six-episode series Trexx and Flipside playing the character of Ollie. In 2008, she was offered the Bambi part on the ITV2 Drama Series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. The actress was on both series 2 and 3. Madekwe made an appearance in the 2008 Comedy film How to Lose Friends & Alienate People. Her credits in theatre are Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams as well as Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe made her US debut in the series The Beautiful Life in 2009. The series aired only two episodes at The CW, and was later cancelled. In February of 2011 she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. The departure of Madekwe from the show was announced in May 2013. Following two seasons as a main character, she was a guest in the opening episode of season 3. Between 2014 and 2016, Madekwe was a star as Tituba in the TV series Salem. Madekwe was married to her long-time lover, Iddo. They have worked together in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl in the past, and Goldberg has also appeared alongside Madekwe on the TV show Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress nominated twice for a Gemini Award, comes from a large Hamilton family. Her family included her parents Roy and Patty together with four older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. The four brothers of Ashley, all very physically active, were all playing hockey in the winter and baseball during the summer, so they grew up mostly in parks and arenas. Ashley was unable to walk, but could dance. This led to the fact that when she turned 2 when she was two, she began to learn about Baby Ballet. Ashley discovered a love for dancing after she started Baby Ballet. Ashley was a dancer who competed across all major divisions up until her graduation from high school. The competitions she participated in included jazz, tap, ballet as well as pointe and acrobatics. In addition, she won top soloists awards in all important dance competitions like the International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance among others.
