Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, an American-Canadian singer and songwriter. She has more than twenty albums. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk and alternative rock although it has additional influence from hip hop and jazz. Ani Difranco is widely acknowledged as a pioneer of music that is feminist. In 1990 she was one of the first to establish her own label independently. The parents of DiFranco, Elizabeth (Ross), a former student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each the other when they were both attending.
