Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, an American-Canadian singer and songwriter. She has more than twenty albums. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk and alternative rock although it has additional influence from hip hop and jazz. Ani Difranco is widely acknowledged as a pioneer of music that is feminist. In 1990 she was one of the first to establish her own label independently. The parents of DiFranco, Elizabeth (Ross), a former student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each the other when they were both attending. Her father is of Italian descent, and her mother is from Montreal. Ani DiFranco composed and sang 32 Flavors. The song debuted on her 1995 sixth studio album Not a Pretty Girl. The soundtrack to 1999's Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate is a variant of this track. In 2013 DiFranco apologised after it was revealed that she would be hosting the three-day event in a former Louisiana slave plantation. It was called off However, some (including the newspaper) did not think it was a sign of regret. DiFranco released an apology just a few weeks following. Although known by the name of Little Peoplesinger, she has worked with many musicians and artists from Pete Seeger through Chuck D all the way to Prince. New Orleans is where she is based. Ani's new baritone guitar is custom Alvarez built following a series of consultations between her myself and Chrys Johnson who was the artist rep for Alvarez in the early days. It features their System 600 amp and is constructed from solid woods. It includes a cedar-top mahogany body and sides featuring an ebony fretboard. DiFranco is at home in New Orleans where she lives with her husband, two children and sidekick Lefty their long-legged dog who wanders in and out of frame as we chat. DiFranco admits she is experiencing mixed emotions about her past career, which spans three decades. Ani DiFranco rose to iconic status as a songwriter/singer and punk/folk artist at 25 both with both fans and critics with Not A Pretty Girl. Dilate brought even greater success to her music in the year 1996. The song Brandy (You're an A-Fair Girl) is a song released in 1972 from the American pop group Looking Glass from their debut album Looking Glass.
