BellamyBellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young born on February 19, 1970)[1she is an American actor, producer, and singer. She is best known for her role as Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama series Scandal (2012-2018). In 2014, the Critics' Choice Television awarded her the best Supporting Actress Award for a Drama Series. In 2019, she starred in the role of Prodigal Son on Fox. Young began her acting career through theatre. Her Broadway debut was in 1997 when she played Mary The Life. The Life. [8][9] In addition to being her Broadway debut, she has appeared Off-Broadway as Mary in Stephen Sondheim's musical Merrily You Roll Along (1994) or in Randy Newman's Faust (95-1996). The year 1995 was the year she made her TV debut as a regular in"The Other World," an NBC daytime soap show Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. In 1997 and 1998, she was a guest on two episodes in the show Law & Order. Her first film appearance was the year 1999 when she starred as a part in the crime thriller Black and White. She later starred in other independent films. Then, in the beginning of 2000, she started appearing as guest-star characters on several TV comedies and dramas, which included The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. From 2000 through 2011, Young was a regular guest on more than 30 appearances in television shows.
